JEE Advanced 2025 Cut Off:
Official Score & Category-Wise Qualifying Marks
The JEE Advanced cutoff is a critical benchmark used to
determine whether a candidate qualifies for inclusion in the rank list and becomes eligible for the IIT
admission process via JoSAA counselling.
The cutoff represents the minimum marks or percentage that a candidate must score to:
โ๏ธ Qualify JEE Advanced 2025
โ๏ธ Be included in the rank list (required for IIT admission)
Note: The qualifying cutoff is not the same as the admission cutoff, which is based on
opening and closing ranks during JoSAA counselling.

JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria New (Revised)
It is mandatory for the students to meet the specific eligibility criteria established by the exam
conducting
authority in order to appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
Any candidate failing to adhere to the eligibility criteria would not be qualified to appear for the JEE
Advanced exam. To be on the safer side, candidates are
advised to read the eligibility criteria carefully and check the application form before submitting it.
Criterion A1 โ Performance in JEE (Main) 2025:
Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in
B.E./B.Tech.
paper (Paper 1) of JEE (Main) 2025.
The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are as follows: 10% for GEN-EWS,
27% for
OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for all.
Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.

Criterion A2 โ Age Limit:
Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000. Five years of age relaxation is given to
SC, ST,
and PwD candidates,
i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995.
Criterion A3 โ Number of attempts:
A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
Criterion A4 โ Appearance in Class XII (or
equivalent) examination:
A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in
either 2024
or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Candidates who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or
earlier, are
NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025,
irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered.
* By appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination, it is meant that the Board concerned
declared the
result for that year irrespective of whether or not examination was conducted.
If the Board declared results for academic year 2022โ23 on or after September 21, 2023, candidates are
eligible,
provided other criteria are fulfilled.
Criterion A5 โ Earlier admission at IITs
A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT under any academic program in the past or accepted
an IIT
seat by reporting online or physically.
Candidates who were admitted to a preparatory course in 2024 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025.
If the seat was cancelled before the final round or withdrawn before reporting, they are still eligible.
However, in all of the above cases, the candidate is also required to fulfil the conditions mentioned
from
Criterion A1 to Criterion A4.
JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Pattern
JEE Advanced is unlike JEE Main in that:
The number of questions, types, and marks can vary each year.
The paper is designed to test deep conceptual understanding.
It consists of two compulsory papers conducted on the same
day.

JEE Advanced 2025 Syllabus
The syllabus of JEE Advanced is declared by the Examination Authority. As compared to the previous
years' JEE
Advanced 2025 syllabus has been released with some
differences. The syllabus is extracted according to the NCERT curriculum and is somewhat very similar to
the
Main syllabus. The difference that can be spotted is in
the weightage of the different topics. The students should have an update regarding the syllabus so that
they
can schedule their preparation accordingly. To check the
subject-wise syllabus for JEE Advanced the candidate can follow the link given below
